Waivers

A second chance when your past stands in the way.

OVERVIEW

Some applicants are barred from a visa or green card because of unlawful presence, a prior removal, fraud, a criminal conviction, or smuggling. A waiver asks the government to forgive that bar so the case can go forward.

Most waivers require showing that your U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse or parent would suffer extreme hardship. The provisional unlawful presence waiver can often be approved before you leave the United States for your interview. We advise on the right order and timing of each step.
